During the treatment, patients typically report a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are administered through the handpiece. While the use of topical numbing gel is generally not necessary, it can be applied before the procedure to enhance comfort. Following the treatment, any discomfort is minimal to none. After your treatment, it is common to experience some temporary redness or bruising in the treated area. In instances where larger veins are targeted, a tan or brownish pigment may be visible for a few weeks or months post-treatment. Patients who undergo leg vein treatments might be advised to wear some form of compression to optimise the healing process.

While most patients report minimal or no side effects, some may experience slight reddening and localised swelling of the skin, which typically subsides within 24 hours. Bruising may occur in certain cases, and although rare, blistering can occur as well. Patients typically find that they can resume their regular activities immediately following the treatment. To protect the treated areas from sun exposure, it is recommended to apply sunscreen. As a general precautionary measure, it is always wise to limit sun exposure to maintain the overall health and appearance of your skin.

For most patients, noticeable improvement in the treated veins is observed within two to six weeks following the treatment. However, it is important to note that final results may take several months to become fully apparent. While it is possible for new veins to appear over time, the Vascular Laser treatment can effectively target and remove these as well.
